20 Years of Frazier Timeline

2005 - The Formation of Frazier


Formation of Frazier Revitalization, initial funding secured, and first major land acquisitions in the Imperial Triangle area (later Hatcher Station Village)

2007


Initial funding came from Hoblitzelle, Citigroup Foundation, Chase, Wachovia, Schepps, Sammons & JMW.

Lot purchases at the Imperial Triangle and demolition of the American Inn

2009


$750,000 forgivable loan from the City of Dallas to support land purchases for revitalization efforts. Launch of after-school and summer youth program that has evolved into Frazier Kids

2010


Planning for Frazier Kids Afterschool Program started.

 

2010, 2011, 2013, & 2017 


Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) efforts to create multifamily housing with a grocery store- efforts failed

2011 


Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative started, offering gang prevention programs and youth afterschool/summer programs

2013-2015


Participated in the nationwide PARTNERS IN PROGRESS initiative (Low Income Investment Fund and CitiFoundation)

 

2014 


Parkland Clinic development deal closed—transforming residential development plans into a 44,000 sq ft health clinic, with a lease agreement with Parkland Health. Community Lawyering Center opened.

2016


Frazier House opened in the former Frazier Elementary School building

2018


Try It! Tuesday was launched to create awareness to health services available to the community. The target audience was DHA residents.

2020


Pivoted programs during COVID-19 to provide virtual support, home-based learning help, and distributed vital resources to families. Construction began on the Dr. MC Cooper Dental Clinic, opening the following April 2021

2021


Sold Parkland Health Clinic to Parkland and closed out New Markets Tax Credit deal. Launched Frazier Healthy Homes to improve local housing stock

2022


Focused on expanding community initiatives like housing renovations, d, Empowerment Pathways, and strategic planning for the next phase of revitalization

2024


Developed Wellness Wednesdays in partnership with CardiacFITT to engage neighbors in total health with weekly classes addressing physical and mental wellness expanding into Walking Wednesdays during spring 2025
